Attach Files to a Job

After (or while) you are creating a job in the portal you may want to attach a file(s) to it.  These files can include anything from drawings, specifications, edge detail sign-offs, customer information or even a map to the customers home.

When you attach the file to the job you are saving that file in the “cloud” so that your fabricator can access the file from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.  As you can see this is a very good idea as it will eliminate the ever so common lost fax.  By attaching the file here the fabricator can access it over and over.

Here is how you can attach a file:

First you will need to log into your account on LG’s Portal.

1) Click on “Orders” on the main menu

2) Click on the folder that holds the job you are looking for.  Most likely it will be in the “Saved, New or Changed Orders”.  You probably won’t be adding many documents to a Completed or Canceled order.  However a fabricator could add a customer sign off for you to download for your records once the job is done.  This file sharing can work both ways.

3) Click on the job number for the job you want to add the attachment to.

4) Once you are on the job page click on the “Attachments” tab.

5) Click on “Add Attachment”

6) Click on “Choose File” and find the file on your computer you would like to upload. Then you can click on the dropdown box and select what type of file you are uploading.  This is just to quickly identify what the file is incase the file name it is saved under does not give any indication.

Once you have completed the above, you can click on “Upload.”

7) You will be returned to the original job screen where you can now see in this example that the Drawings for Billy Bob’s kitchen have been attached.
