We spend all day working on our businesses. At times it can be consuming and dictate what we do each and everyday. I remember with one of my first companies it seemed like everything I did revolved around that company. I think it is always a good idea to step back and think about WHY we are working so hard and make sure that we are truly focused on the goals that we want to achieve.
I encourage you to watch this video. Kind of thought provoking………
I am sure that if you are a countertop fabricator, at some point in time you have already, or will, have to deal with a customer that will swear up and down that the color of the countertop in her house is not what she saw in the showroom.
I think this video clearly shows why it is imperative to give a customer a sample to take home and see what the color looks like in their own home. Then make sure they sign off on the color and have a disclaimer they sign on the same page where they indicate as the customer that they were given a sample to take home and look at under the lighting in their own home.
For those of you that are always on the lookout for great organizations I would like to suggest you consider www.DonorsChoose.org
It is a great organization that allows your donations to directly impact the lives of children. If you currently looking for a way your company can support your local community, I highly recommend you look at DonorsChoose.org. Here is another letter I just recieved from a classroom my companies recently supported:
I would like to express to you how grateful we are for your contributions to our flag football project. My students were, and are still, so excited about getting the new equipment. You have helped my students develop skills in kicking, throwing, catching, strategizing, and teamwork. The equipment has benefited all grade levels, from Kindergarten through 6th grade. We have played flag football with the equipment, and we have also played lead-up games, flag tag, and sharks and minnows. The cones have been very helpful on an almost daily basis with establishing boundaries for the students in their games.
Our school, as with many schools these days, has limited resources, and we have a very limited budget for Physical Education equipment. Without your donation our project would not have been possible and would have had to remain in the dreams of my students. You have helped to make their dreams a reality, and we are so very thankful. Know that you have made a difference to so many.
With gratitude, Mrs. B.
The ancient Egyptians had a beautiful belief about death and that when their souls got to the entrance to heaven, the guards asked two questions inevitably determining whether they were able to enter or not by their answer. Those two question were: ‘Have you found joy in your life?’ and ‘Has your life brought joy to others?’”
I think by seeking the later you will undoubtedly find the former.
